Exciting Cheltenham Festival, Horse Racing Cheltenham Festival Cup

It’s that time of year when the sporting public, and definitely the racing public, get excited and turn their attention to the famous Cheltenham Festival.

Its four days of racing, betting, partying and good-natured (and some not-so good-natured) teasing amongst participating countries.

Over 65,000 racing fans will pack Prestbury Park for the Festival, many of those will be from Ireland, there to bet on their horses and hopefully cheer them on to victories over the UK counterparts.

Online bookmakers will also be cheering over the four days, as not even the current economic crisis will slow the flow of punters and betting volume for one of the biggest wagering events of the year.

There are several big favorites lining up this year, notably Master Minded who is a very short 1-3 to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase, which would make it two years in a row for this title.

Trainer Paul Nichols is feeling very confident Master Minded can defend the Championship.

You’ll want to keep an eye on Binocular as well. This horse has become very popular amongst punters as the season has progressed. He is a 5-4 favourite for the Champion Hurdle and money keeps pouring in on him at the bookmakers

Next behind Binocular is Celestial Halo, who has one of the top trainers, the aforementioned Paul Nicholls, looking after him. Currently his odds are at 8-1.

Other big favorites include the Nicky Henderson trained Punches towns (4-1 odds), Kasbah Bliss, who is trained in France, is another impressive horse catching attention from punters.

Kauto Star is a massive favorite in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The 2007 winner is currently at 7-4 odds.

The betting has been steady and will continue to build up to the first race at Cheltenham.
