After an intriguing Week 13 of the NFL season, let’s get going with the NFL Power Rankings for Week 14.
Here are some NFL Power Rankings for Week 14 (Last week’s ranking is in brackets):
(1) New Orleans Saints (12-0) How long can they keep getting away with all these close wins?
(2) Indianapolis Colts (12-0) Could the NFL possibly have two 16-win teams in one season? Would the ‘72 Dolphins collectively lose their minds?
(3) Minnesota Vikings (10-2) Yeah, they lost to the Cards. But honestly, what NFC team, other than the Saints, are better than the Vikes?
(4) San Diego Chargers (9-3) Yeah, the Bolts won but their defense gave up a bunch of points to the Browns. Not encouraging.
(5) Cincinnati Bengals (9-3) Cedric Benson looked good in his return.
(6) Dallas Cowboys (8-4) Well, here comes the “Tony Romo doesn’t produce in December” conversation.
(
Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) The Eagles are like the anti-Cowboys. They’re 28-11 in December this decade.
(11) Arizona Cardinals (8-4) The Cards held Adrian Peterson to just 19 rushing yards.
(9) Green Bay Packers (8-4) Did that Monday night game set some kind of record for pass interference calls?
(10) Denver Broncos (8-4) If the Broncos keep getting good performances from Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter (they combined for 245 rushing yards against the Chiefs), they’ll be hard to beat.
(13) New York Giants (7-5) How much would Justin Tuck love to get a shot at Flozell Adams?
(7) New England Patriots (7-5) Are the Pats still an elite team?
(16) Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5) Who are these guys? People in Jacksonville don’t even know.
(12) Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6) Mike Tomlin is not amused.
(14) Baltimore Ravens (6-6) Joe Flacco needs to make better decisions.
(20) Miami Dolphins (6-6) With the Pats floundering, could the Dolphins win the division?
(21) New York Jets (6-6) The Jets have the top rushing offense and pass defense in the NFL and yet they’re .500.
(17) Tennessee Titans (5-7) The magical run had to end.
(15) Atlanta Falcons (6-6) Sure, Michael Turner and Matt Ryan are out, but the injuries to the Falcons offensive line are a real concern.
(18) Houston Texans (5-7) The Texans have lost four in a row. That should end soon as they face the Rams and Seahawks next.
(19) San Francisco 49ers (5-7) The Niners new spread offense has helped Alex Smith put up big numbers, but it hasn’t helped the team win.
(24) Carolina Panthers (5-7) Can they play the Buccaneers every week?
(23) Chicago Bears (5-7) Enjoy your win against the Rams. The Bears next three opponents: Green Bay, Baltimore, and Minnesota.
(25) Seattle Seahawks (5-7) It’s hard to get too excited about their Week 13 win, since the Niners pretty much handed them the game on a platter.
(26) Washington Redskins (3-8) Sure, it was a heartbreaking loss, but Jason Campbell’s performance was somewhat encouraging.
(22) Buffalo Bills (4-8) Their offensive line continues to struggle.
(28) Oakland Raiders (4-8) Has the Bruce Gradkowski era begun?
(27) Kansas City Chiefs (3-9) The Chiefs have allowed 40 or more points in the last two games.
(29) Detroit Lions (2-10) The Lions offense racked just 21 yards in the second and third quarters of their loss to the Bengals.
(32) Cleveland Browns (1-11) The Browns young receiving corps looked decent: more than half of the team’s receptions against the Chargers came from rookies.
(31) St. Louis Rams (1-11) Kyle Boller has lost his last 10 games in a row, dating back to his time with the Ravens
(30) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-11) What can you say about a team that gave up five interceptions, including three in the red zone?
